La struttura e la metodologia
 Questa nuova edizione di First Aid nasce dall'esigenza di fornire materiale di supporto all'apprendimento della grammatica e della sintassi nuovo e aggiornato e ancora più chiaro e fruibile rispetto alla prima edizione.
 Oltre un terzo delle attività e delle verifiche sono state variate, mentre la parte teorica, soprattutto del Volume 1, è stata quasi completamente modificata per venire incontro alle esigenze di un'utenza con forte richiesta di apprendimento linguistico e con competenze differenziate, talvolta non soddisfacenti, se non molto scarse.
 
 E' rimasta invariata la collaudata struttura metodologica che ha raccolto grandi favori basati sul metodo induttivo e sulla regola pedagogica che ciò che si apprende e si (ri)scopre per esperienza diretta rimane meglio impresso.
 
 Il libro può essere impiegato per:
 a) fornire materiale aggiuntivo/alternativo da affiancare a un metodo o a una grammatica più complessa, per attività di ‘sportello’ o di recupero, individualizzato o a gruppi;
 b) far esercitare gli studenti (sia con sospensione del giudizio che non) durante le vacanze estive.
 
 First Aid è suddiviso in due volumi, che rispecchiano la progressione nello studio della grammatica: il primo volume tratta, infatti, le strutture di base (livelli A1 e A2), mentre il secondo affronta le strutture più complesse (livelli B1 e B2). I volumi sono suddivisi in moduli tematici che, a loro volta, sono suddivisi in unità di lavoro semplici e snelle.
 
 Gli strumenti didattici
 L’intera opera è caratterizzata: <ul><li>dalla presenza di tavole sinottiche che richiamano la struttura e che attivano i processi cognitivi degli studenti; questi devono completare tabelle o spiegazioni, richiamando alla memoria quanto già appreso. Questo processo induttivo li porta a non ometterne la lettura o ad evitare una lettura frettolosa;
</li><li>dalla presenza di momenti di confronto tra due o più strutture sulle quali gli studenti spesso manifestano difficoltà;
</li><li>dall’uso di un linguaggio semplice, che fa sì che gli studenti si possano concentrare sulla struttura che devono apprendere, piuttosto che sulla comprensione del significato delle frasi contenute negli esercizi;
</li><li>dalla presenza di test utili sia alla valutazione da parte dell’insegnante, sia all’auto-valutazione da parte degli studenti stessi.</li></ul>
