If so, do you like them? When do you usually watch them? Who is your favourite character? b. Do you know this episode? Have you ever been to England? What is typically British in your opinion? A synopsis Production: USA 2003 Created by Matt Groenig Mr. Burns uses his ATM card and gets a $1000 bill. It blows away, right across town and into the Simpsons living room window, where Bart finds it. His parents make him put up a notice so that the owner might have the opportunity to claim the bill. To begin with, no one can identify the banknote, so Bart realises he can make money showing off his bill at the Museum of Modern Bart in his tree house. After some time Mr. Burns makes his claim for the banknote, meanwhile Bart has made a lot of money with the entrance tickets to his museum. To make use of the money the family decides to go to England, where, during the war, Abe (the grandfather) had a memorable night with a beautiful English girl, Edwina. When they arrive at London airport, the Simpsons are welcomed by Prime Minister Tony Blair. Abe tries to find Edwina, meanwhile the rest of the family tours London. Everything is going fine until Homer slams his Mini car into the back of the Queen s horse-drawn carriage. Homer is taken to court and sent to prison in the Tower of London. Lisa finds a way for Homer to escape his cell, a secret tunnel once used by Sir Walter Raleigh. Unfortunately the tunnel leads to the Queen s bedroom. Homer s pathetic plea with the Queen is successful and the Simpsons are allowed to leave the country provided they take Madonna with them. Before they leave, Edwina calls Abe and introduces him to her 58-year-old daughter, Abbie, a woman who looks like Homer in drag. Abe runs on board the plane as fast as he can. Written by George Swartzwelder Director: Mark Kirkland Guest stars: Prime Minister Tony Blair, J.K. Rowling, Ian Mckellen, Jane Leeves The film focuses on one of the overseas trips the Simpson family has enjoyed. It contains a lot of stereotypes in representation of British culture. When the Simpsons as representatives of the US travel, they see only those things they expect to see in the countries they visit and make fun of them.
