I m 13 years old and I m Italian. I attend the Junior Secondary School in Milan and this summer I m here in Ireland to improve my English! But this is a special holiday because I m not only studying the language, I m also attending a theatre and drama course! These days I m living in Kilkenny. It s a very ancient town about 70 miles from the capital, Dublin. Kilkenny is small but very lively. There is a big castle, dating back to the 13th 76 century, a cathedral with a magnificent tower and lots of shops and pubs. I like everything here! I m staying with a family, the O Connors (that s a typical Irish surname). There are five people in the family: father, mother and three children. Among them, Anne is exactly my age: she s really nice and she loves music and theatre, too! In the morning I always go to the school of English: I have four lessons, from 9.00 to 12.45. After a quick packet lunch (it means sandwiches!), I can hang out with friends or practise sports, but on Wednesdays and Fridays I go to the Barnstorm Theatre for my course. It s so cool! We are learning how to move on the stage and how to use our voice. We are also learning forms of theatre that can involve young people. And we are also preparing a performance! It s not so easy for me because it s in English, but I m confident and enthusiastic! I hope to become a director in the future! That s all for now. Bye.
