E X T E N S I O N INVISIBILITY IN SCIENCE Invisibility is the impossibility to see a physical object. Invisibility happens when an object does not reflect light or absorb it. More exactly, it allows1 light to pass through it.This is known as transparency and is seen in many natural materials, for example: gases (air), water and glass. But actually no natural material is 100% transparent. Using artificial substances called metamaterials , different teams of scientists have built cloaks that make things disappear . Metamaterials make rays3 of light move around an object like a big stone that makes water change direction in a river. 1. allows: lets, permits. 2. discovery: the process of finding something new. 3. ray: 54
