 Young Mary Lennox is an orphan and is sent to live with her widowed uncle in a cold manor in Yorkshire. She is mostly left on her own but she is a resourceful and inquisitive girl.
 So she soon makes two exciting discoveries: first she finds an overgrown secret garden, the favourite place of her aunt, locked up since her death; second, that she has a cousin, Colin, a sickly boy who must remain in bed out of the daylight at all times.
 But Mary and another new friend, Dickon, bring the garden back to life and decide that Colin must see it, a decision that will change several lives...

 Rimasta orfana, Mary Lennox viene mandata dall’India in Inghilterra da suo zio, vedovo. Si trova a vivere in una grande ma fredda casa di campagna ed è quasi sempre sola.
