Speaking LIVERPOOL: A REAL URBAN RENAISSANCE Act out a conversation with one of your classmates following the instructions provided and the information from the chart below.   Urban Renaissance: balance of social, environmental and economic factors, best use of local resources, best architectural solutions. First urban development agency  Liverpool vision . European Cultural Capital in 2008.   The urban area has undergone profound changes with the realisation of major renewal projects.    Liverpool One  covers 17 hectares, largely intended for retail use (the biggest shopping centre in Europe), a 14-screen multiplex cinema, 21,000 m2 of refreshment areas and restaurants, 500 luxury apartments, a two-hectare park, 3,000 parking spaces.   Arena and Convention Centre (ACC) with a 10,600-seat arena, a convention centre with a 1,350-seat auditorium and 7,000 m2 exhibition area. It integrates the adjacent Albert Dock. Albert Dock   Albert Dock: significant restoration and renewal works in the 80s and 90s. UNESCO heritage site.   Future projects: The  Super Port  will link the port to John Lennon Airport, the Manchester Canal and the modernisation of the Wallasey and Birkenhead Docks.
