It is opposed by General Leia Organa and the Resistance: both Leia and the First Order seek to find the missing Jedi Master Luke Skywalker (Leia’s twin) who exiled himself when one of his apprentices (Kylo) turned to the dark side and the other apprentices. In the midst of this search, new heroes are introduced: Rey, a 19-year-old girl and a Force-sensitive from Jakku; Finn, a who defected from the First Order; and Poe Dameron, the best pilot in the Resistance. They are aided by Han Solo and Chewbacca in their search for Skywalker and their mission to destroy the First Order’s new superweapon, "Starkiller Base", which targets the New Republic and the Resistance for destruction. They are mainly opposed by the powerful dark warrior Kylo Ren (Han Solo and Leia’s son): when Han Solo confronts Kylo, calling him by his birth-name Ben, and implores him to abandon the dark side, Kylo kills him. Rey proves herself stronger with the Force than Kylo by resisting his mind-reading attempts and by defeating him in a duel where she uses Luke’s .
