Political Influencer by Chance A. Max Even if I am only fifteen, I9m really into politics. I felt really bad that I was not old enough to cast my vote in the last UK general elections. I think I missed a good chance to have my voice heard. One night, while I was scrolling through posts on TikTok, I had an idea: why shouldn9t I try to express my opinion by posting something there? That9s what I did! I posted a video on TikTok criticising politicians9 anti-immigration rhetoric. When I woke up the following morning, I was shocked! The post was blowing up really quickly. In just one night it had reached tens of thousands of people, more than many posts from the major political parties. B. Ben I have always tried to keep abreast of the latest political news to make up my mind on which party9s ideals I feel closer to. I got really hooked by some of the rightwing views, so some weeks before the general election I decided to share some clips of politicians I agree with, highlighting worries about knife crimes and supporting Brexit. I found it really intriguing that most of the time I was the one who broke the news to people and not traditional media like newspapers or TV news. In no time my posts had hundreds of thousands of views. Amazing power of social media! 126 Topin 5 " MONEY & POWER C. Jane I started posting election content because my feed was flooded by UK political posts throughout the electoral period. Before that time, I only posted content about football, celebrities, and gossip. Well, once I also shared some video about US President Donal Trump and some European right-wing politicians. However, political content has recently become more frequent in my feeds, especially if it is related to immigration and social inequality. That9s something I really care about. D. Grace I am still too young to make my voice heard through the ballot box. However, I have certainly found some following on my social media feeds. Two weeks before the elections I shared a post in which I urged people to vote Labour, not Green and I also gave my opinion about Sir Keir Starmer. I said that he could be replaced as leader after the election. I couldn9t believe it when I saw that my post had racked up to 100,000 views! If only I had known I would have reached such a number of followers, I would have probably been more careful about what I was saying. Adapted from: https://www.bbc.com/news/ articles/cd1rl6p5p32o
